We received a call from a man seeking help in finding a home for a female dog that had delivered a litter of pups at his home. At first, the man claimed that the mom was a stray, but we later learned that this dog was actually his. Regardless, the man said his landlord was going to evict him if he didn't remove mom and pups immediately. 

 

Since we were completely full at the time, we put out a plea for help, seeking a foster home for them all. That's when our friend and fellow dog rescuer, Darlene Nobles, offered to take in mom and her 8 one week old pups. And not only did Darlene serve as their foster, he also helped nurse the mom, who was very thin and missing fur due to flea infestation, back to health and work on her disposition towards strangers. It was through Darlene's determination that all of the pups survived and have developed great and very friendly personalities. There's no doubt that she will now make a great addition into just about any home and become a treasured member of that family.

 

Speckles has now received all three of her first year "puppy" vaccines, been de-wormed a proper intervals and started on monthly preventatives. Speckles adopter must agree to having her spayed at 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue.
