In January of this year, a man found a box of 12 puppies that had been discarded in the mobile home park where he lived. He and his wife took the pups to their home and gave the two month old pups the best care that they could. The pups were overloaded with worms, parasites and fleas, which left them without fur to keep themselves warm during the frigid January temperatures. Five of the young pups passed before we were able to take them in and a sixth passed shortly after coming to our rescue, but Poppy and her five remaining siblings have all fully recovered from their ailments and are now healthy, happy and ready to find their new homes.

Poppy is almost an identical twin to her sister Peaches not only in her physical appearance, but also with her personality traits. But Poppy believes that she can "one-up" her sister in just how much love she can give to someone. Be that true or not, the one thing you can count on from Poppy is that she will become and remain the most loyal and devoted friend you'll ever have.

Poppy will have received all of her required first year "puppy" vaccinations, including her rabies and Bordetella vaccines, as well as scheduled de-wormings and monthly preventatives prior to being transported north. Her adopter must agree to having Poppy spay once she reaches six months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. Poppy will also need to receive all of her basic training.
