Marcus has come a long way since we first met him. When he was found as a stray by a young lady who lived in a Dublin area mobile home park, he was missing most of his fur due to Demodex mange and also very thin from poor nutrition. The lady agreed to foster Marcus while we treated his skin condition and get him ready for adoption, but then she ended up being hospitalized which caused Marcus to be left alone at the home. Faced with being surrendered to a high-kill animal control, we had to quickly scramble to find him foster home. A good friend of SoCo Rescue offered to foster him and we were able to get Marcus the help he needed.

Despite the neglect and lack of concern that he received from most people, Marcus remained a very appreciative dog. He immediately began to let us know how much he appreciated the help and has since proven to be very people oriented. While he does get along very well with other dogs, Marcus would much rather spend his time with people. There's no doubt that this boy is going to make someone a great companion.

Marcus has now been neutered, had all of his annual vaccinations and de-wormings updated as well as being started and kept on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His skin condition has cleared up and we do strongly recommend keeping him on Bravecto, a 3 month flea/tick preventative, as it aids in treating mange as well. Marcus will need additional house and leash training.
