Naomi has also proven to be a real love bug! With her round belly, miniature stature and shorter-than-they-should-be legs, we suspect she may be part "pocket pittie".  She is adorably cute!  Yet her playfulness, friendly demeanor and very affection personality makes her a great choice for those seeking a family pet or a single person looking for a trusted friend and companion. She's interacted very well with other dogs, not sure how she'll do around cats, and seems to love people of all ages.  She has even learned to like rides in the car!

Naomi was among the 4 dogs removed from a home after another dog from the same home literally died from starvation. The owner went on the run after learning that he had warrants for drug charges and left the dogs in his brother's care. The brother denies any involvement in the neglectful manner in which the dogs had to endure and the girlfriend of the owner attempted many times to convince us that her boyfriend took excellent care of his dogs, yet refused to produce copies of vet records that she claimed her on-the-lam dreamboat of a boyfriend supposedly had. The local law enforcement initially vowed that the man would not go unpunished for his crimes against his dogs, but made no effort to apprehend the man even though a tipster revealed the location where the man was hiding-in the town next door! Naomi, although she was allowed to live in the house, was close to also dying from lack of food but made a miraculous recovery once in the care of SoCo Rescue.

Naomi has been kept up to date on her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and monthly flea/tick and Heartworm preventatives. She was Heartworm positive when she arrived at our rescue and just has completed her treatments to rid her of the deadly worms. She'll most likely need a little house training, walks well on a lease is somewhat crate trained. She does not, however particularly like car rides.
