FOSTER :  We are enjoying having Eclipse (We call her "Ellie") in our home.  She is a sweet and gentle girl and the perfect size for us.  She was timid at first but has been warming up slowly.  We often find her following behind us all over the house!  She is the kind of dog that wants to be near you, but not on you.  Sits on the floor, not the couch.  She meets new people with a wagging tail and a sniff but no jumping.  She is friendly with other dogs AND CATS!  It would be nice for her to be good with another dog with similar energy level but would also would be OK as an only dog.    In terms of house training, she  is doing great.  We do not crate her at night or when we go out.  She loves to be with us but can also be alone in the house.

Eclipse (Ellie) would be perfect for a calmer, lower activity home.  She is the perfect companion dog.  She likes walks but also enjoys roaming around the yard,  Right now she is nervous on car rides so she's likely not the dog to take to Home Depot!

RESCUE

Eclipse came to SoCo Rescue as an owner surrender way back in 2019. Her former owner decided that she could no longer care for Eclipse or her other dogs, who she also surrendered to us. At the time, Eclipse lived in poorly constructed fenced-in area that was overgrown with weeds and brush. While they claimed to "love" Eclipse, she had never even been to a vet or received any type of care and the family spent very little time with her other than to feed her.

Eclipse came to us looking to be very healthy but that was not the case. She was full of worms, had been provided a poor diet and suffered from various skin allergies. She was also heartworm positive. We immediately started her on a proper diet, which helped clear up her skin condition and administered all of her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and other such care. We also elected to treat her heartworms using the slow kill method and she recently tested negative for heartworms. She's since been kept up to date on all of her basic care and monthly preventatives. Eclipse has also been spayed.

Eclipse is such a sweet, gentle girl who gets along great with other dogs. She is shy and new people have to earn her trust.  She also now is very eager to make friends with the people she meets and loves the attention that she receives. There is no doubt that Eclipse will make a great family companion and is ideal for anyone who is looking to adopt an older, calm and very friendly dog. She made need a little time to adjust to living as an inside dog, namely with her house training, but we anticipate that she'll do very well with a little guidance. She does love her time being outdoors but would also find great pleasure in lounging around the house with her new family.

Eclipse has spent a long time waiting for her new home and we think that she will bring so much happiness to whoever adopts her. Please consider giving this wonderful girl the home that she's waited for and so much deserves.
