Bruno and Rocco were surrendered to SoCo by their former owner. The man had received a promotion within his company which came with a much needed pay raise and the opportunity to give his family a better life. The only negative about this opportunity was that he would not be able to take all of his dogs with him. One of his dogs was battling cancer and he knew that she would most likely be euthanized if surrendered to a shelter so he decided to keep her in hopes of saving her life. It was a painful and tearful moment when the man left his dogs with us, but he really had no choice.
Being 10 years old, Bruno is starting to enjoy being a more relaxed, lay-by-the-fireplace kind of dog rather than always wanting to run and play. He is still very active and enjoys playing with other dogs, but time and age are starting to catch up with him. His last vet visit didn't detect any ailments that would be of concern, but he does have the typical hip/joint problems that most older dogs have. One thing that has not changed with him due to his age is the love and devotion that he has to give to someone. It will take a very special person to adopt Bruno knowing that he is facing the final years of his life, but then, Bruno is a very special dog who deserves just that type of person.
Bruno has been neutered and his former owner kept him up to date on all of his annual vaccinations and monthly preventatives. He was perfectly house trained while with his former owner but may need a refresher course once in a new home. We are offering Bruno for adoption at a reduced adoption fee which we'll be happy to discuss with you after your application has been approved.
