Yumi and her sister, Yuba, were surrendered to SoCo by their former owner. At first, the owner claimed that his puppies were sick and he didn't have the money to take them to a vet. He wanted SoCo Rescue to simply "make them better" then return them to him, but Scott Bennett recognized that the owner could not afford to give them proper care and refused to lagree to the man's repeated demands. Unfortunately the owner kept one of Yumi's siblings. While he seemed to want to learn how to properly take care of the pup he kept, the young man is now trying to sell the puppy to us, asking anywhere from $200 to $600 for the puppy.

Yumi's time at SoCo almost ended before it got started. She came into our rescue very lethargic and didn't display much life to her. We discovered that she was full of hookworms, which were robbing her of life, literally. But after receiving some very dedicated love and care, this girl bounced back full of life and ready to show the world just how wonderful she is! Yumi has since proven to be very friendly, playful, comical and smart. Yumi will make a great family companion and should bring you love and joy for many years to come.

Yumi has been spayed, received an update on her annual vaccinations, de-wormed and treated for parasites. She's also been started and kept on her monthly preventatives and tested negative when receiving both a parasite screening and heartworm test. Yumi will require her basic training.
