Meet Gina! 
Gina has been in a foster home in NJ learning the in and outs of being a puppy and she's enjoying every moment of it. She has come a long way in foster care and really enjoys the company of other dogs, so a home with another dog would be preferred. Although she is timid at first, she has nothing but love to give and loves cuddles. She would make a great pet if you're willing to give her the time and patience she needs to trust you and bond with you. She is not quite sure of children but has shown no aggression towards them so with the proper introduction, she would be wonderful with children. She is a fast learner and has house trained with ease! She is available in NJ. 

Gina and her five sisters had been abandoned at a dumpster site and found by a Wheeler Co sanitation worker. The young pups, approximately 3 months old at the time, were terrified, hungry and very much in need of some help.. While all six were extremely wary of the sanitation worker, he was able to gather them all up and took them to his home. The sanitation worker then contacted SoCo Rescue seeking help for the pups. When Scott Bennett went to meet the pups, he was horrified at not only the living conditions of the pups- a makeshift, very unclean and muddy outdoor kennel area, he knew that one of the pups was very close to dying if she didn't receive immediate help.The sanitation worker explained that the kennel hadn't been used in "a long time" and was the only place that he had to keep the pups until help could be found. The man also said his work schedule limited his time to feed the pups to only once a day. 

Despite being very crowded at the rescue, Scott took the sickest of the pups and a sister with him. Over the next week, Scott took on the responsibility of making sure the remaining four pups were fed, watered and had their living area cleaned twice a day. He also began administering de-wormers, vaccinations and other much needed medications. After about a week, the four remaining pups were reunited with their two sisters at SoCo Rescue.

At first, Gina was very wary of any contact with people. But over the time that she's been with us, Gina has slowly come out of her shell. She now joins in the festive greeting given when staff members approach their kennel, has a smile on her face and even gives a few kisses. Gina may never be completely over her apprehension of new things or people, but she will bond to someone and look towards them for love and reassurance that it's OK to make new friends and try new things. Gina isn't going to be the right dog for just anyone, but she will be perfect for the person who has what it takes to make a huge difference in the life of a dog that so badly needs someone to love. 

Gina has now received her annual vaccinations, been de-wormed and treated against parasites, started on her monthly preventatives  a well as being spayed. She will require all of her training, including house training.
