Dixie is ready to be on our next Freedom Ride to NJ for our adoption weekend on 9/25 at Dogs & Cats Rule in Pennington, NJ. If interested, please fillout our application at www.SoCoRescue.com.
Dixie found herself locked away at an animal control after she had been impounded as a stray dog. Despite being extremely friendly towards people and other dogs, Dixie was slated to be euthanized after no one showed any interest in adopting her. After a SoCo representative met Dixie, we knew that she more than deserved our help in saving her life and finding her a new home.
Dixie looks like a senior, but this girl has just reached early middle age for her breed. Her frosty accents are just highlights for this glam go-getter! With a determined personality that is prevalent in her breed, Dixie is ready for any adventure. She loves a brisk walk with opportunities to sniff & explore.
Dixie shares her kennel with two other dogs and gets along exceptionally well with her foster brother and sister; she shares resources and plays/wrestles with no problems. Dixie is curious about cats, but she did not give chase to our resident kitties; however, she may need to be supervised around cats that run away. Dixie is kid-friendly and likes routines and schedules.
**Fun Fact: Dixie LOVES to run beside an ATV or UTV!! She even enjoys a slow ride and thinks this is the best thing EVER!**
Dixie is spayed, up to date on on vaccines & preventatives. Dixie initially tested positive for heasrtworms but has since been treated against them. Dixie may require additional house training.
