**Adopted**

Emma is being foster in a loving home near Pennington, NJ.  Her foster writes..

Emma  is adjusting well... I do think that she was never an indoor dog and everything thing inside is new to her.... She is very relaxed at home and seems to enjoy being in.... she is doing well in the crate but has figured out how to escape by pushing out the bottom layer, lol.     We have kept her out of the crate for a few days for an hour or two and besides a few toilet paper rolls she has not chewed or disrupted much.  You can see with each passing day she gets a little more comfortable but she is still very skittish when doing something for the first time. She has not had an accident inside and does her business on the leash within a few minutes of a brisk walk around the block.

We do notice that she much prefers the company of females. While she is daily warming up to me she absolutely LOVES Erin, she is MUCH more cautious around men.  But everyday she is changing into a loving family pet.... but as you said when we started our foster she is adjusting well to a calm relaxed home

Emma and her sister, Ellie, were found as strays by a couple of men who were working in a wooded area. Ellie was fully pregnant and in need of some help if she were to be able to nurse her pups properly and Emma seemed a bit hesitant of the two men. When the two men returned to the job site the next day, they discovered that Ellie had delivered 9 puppies and that Emma seemed a bit more welcoming to them. They took the girls and puppies to their home and contacted their pastor, who then contacted SoCo Rescue.

When members of the SoCo team went to get Emma, Ellie and the pups, they discovered that Emma has also delivered two pups overnight. This came as a surprise to the two men as Emma hadn't looked pregnant the day before. SoCo Rescue took both moms and all 12 newborn pups into their care.

Emma initially was scared and apprehensive of our offers of help but quickly shed her fears of all that was new and uncertain to her. While she's still a little shy, she is now interacting very well with our staff. Her ideal home would be one without small children and a bit on the calmer side to give Emma the opportunity to adjust. We're positive that Emma will open up toher new family the same way she has with our staff.

Emma has been fully vetted, started on her monthly preventatives and de-wormed. Her recent heartworm test came back negative and she appears to be in excellent health despite her homeless ordeal. We don't think Emma has ever been an indoor dog or received much training so her adopter should be prepared to offer basic training to her.
