Lydia and her four siblings came to SoCo as owner surrenders. Their former owner had intentions of using his female dog for breeding but found it difficult to sell the puppies because they "weren't full-blooded". After talking with the former owner and also offering to help with the needed vet care that his female dog needed, we were able to convince the man to have his dog spay and let her live a life of being loved as part of his family.

Lydia was very scared and insecure when she first arrived, often retreating to a safe distance away from us when we tried to interact with her. But after a few days of dedicated and determined efforts, Lydia now greets us with a wagging tail! She's very playful, sweet and seems to be the most affectionate of the litter.

As 11/2/20 Lydia has received 2/3 of her first year "puppy" vaccines, been de-wormed, treated against parasites and started on her monthly preventatives. Her adopter must agree on having Lydia spay once she reaches 6 months of age and provide proof of such to our rescue.
