***Shelly is currently located at our Georgia facility. She is also available for adoption in the New Jersey and surrounding areas.***
When the SoCo staff arrived at work one morning, they found a yellow Lab sitting in the parking lot. "Shelly", as we later named her, had apparently been discarded at SoCo during our closed hours. There was no note or other communication to explain why Shelly had been left at our rescue.
Shelly wasted no time in showing us exactly how friendly and wonderful she was. She made friends with all of our staff rather quickly. She loves to play fetch, loves to run wide open and loves her playtime with people. She's smart, a quick learner and even already knows her basic commands.
Shelly's initial dog-friendly test didn't go very well but that may have been due to the commotion within the rescue. We would recommend a meet-and-greet with any other dogs that Shelly would share a home with, but she may need to be the only dog in the home. We don't think she'll be good with cats.
Shelly was heartworm positive when she arrived but has since been treated. She's also been spayed, received an update on her yearly vaccinations, de-wormed and kept on her monthly preventatives. While Shelly shows some house training experience, she may need a refresher course once in a new home
