***Adoption Pending***

After Kodiak found himself impounded in the Laurens Co Animal Control, a young lady who knew him well asked if we could please rescue him from their facility. Kodiak had belonged to a neighbor of the young lady and would quite frequently visit the woman's home when he would manage to escape from his yard. The young lady was also the proud owner of one of Kodiak's siblings, so she had a strong desire to see this fellow safe. The animal control agreed to let us "pull" Kodiak with one stipulation: he could not be adopted to anyone who lived within Laurens Co. Despite being non-aggressive and simply wanting companionship the animal control was "tired of dealing" with Kodiak after numerous complaints from other neighbors each time he managed to escape his yard.

Since coming to SoCo Rescue, we've learned that Kodiak is a very friendly fellow who simply wants companionship. In fact, once we paired him with another dog, Kodiak ceased trying to escape our facility. He's content with just laying around the yard, playing with his companions and thrives on human contact. We're confident that Kodiak will do very well in a home where he can interact with people and/or another dog on a consistent basis and would be considered safe to be around young children who know how to properly treat a dog. He loves going on leash walks and would be excellent for someone looking for a hiking/walking companion.

Not only has Kodiak been fully vetted, we also had him treated for heartworms. He's also been de-wormed and kept om his monthly preventatives. While Kodiak has spent time as an indoor dog, his adopter should be prepared to offer him additional house training.

If you're interested in adding this wonderful, kind fellow to your home, please submit an application at socorescue.com (no need to register or login)
