Poppy and her sister, Penny, found themselves locked away in a local animal control after being picked up as strays. Since this shelter has very few adoptions and most of the strays are never reclaimed, it's highly unlikely that the pair of sisters would have made it out of the animal control alive if we hadn't of taken them in. In fact, the sisters were already on the list to be euthanized when we were made aware of them.  

As expected, Poppy was scared and apprehensive of us when she first arrived, but then she was facing an uncertain future. But after a good bath and some great tasting food, Poppy quickly opened up to reveal her very friendly yet calm personality. In no time Poppy was taking treats from our hands, asking to be petted and crawling into our laps. With the right home, Poppy will continue to flourish and become a treasured member of that family.

Poppy has now received 2/3 of her first year vaccinations, bordetella and rabies vaccines, been de-wormed and treated against parasites and tapes worms as well. She's also been started on her monthly preventatives and will have a microchip accompanying her adoption. Poppy's adopter must agree to having her spay once she reaches 6 months of age and provide proof of such to our rescue.
