**Scruffy is now in a loving Foster home in NJ.  He is great with kids, just need to watch the younger ones because of his size.  He is enjoying playing with his new fur friend too**
 

Scruffy came to SoCo Rescue in Jan 2019 as part of a multi-dog rescue from one property. In all, 19 dogs were rescued from the property after Scruffy's former owner was evicted from the property. While Scruffy's former owner loved her dogs very much, she simply didn't have the means in which to properly care for them all, which led to most of them coming to us in need of extra vet care and/or time to become more socialized towards people. 

Scruffy is a very friendly fellow who enjoys spending time with people. Being a little older, he's developed into a calm, laid-back dog who is simply enjoying life. He's always got a smile on his face, always willing to get petted and give a few kisses. Scruffy will make an excellent candidate into just about any home.

Scruffy lived most of his past life on a chain, somewhat secluded from other dogs. There were free-roaming dogs that would visit Scruffy, which helped make him the dog-friendly fellow that he is now. We'd still advise a meet-and-greet with any other dogs that he may share a home with prior to his adoption. As did most of the dogs from his former home, Scruffy was heartworm positive when he arrived at SoCo Rescue but has since been treated. He's also been neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed and kept on his monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. A microchip will accompany his adoption. Scruffy may need additional house training.
