“Adoption Pending “

Mavis appeared at the convenience store across from SoCo Rescue one day and remained there for several days. While the store's employees searched for her owner, none could be found. There's a possibility that someone dumped her off in the area, hoping she'd find her way to our rescue. Even after taking Mavis into our rescue, we were unable to locate her owner.. She's now ready to find her new home.

Mavis is a calm, quiet dog who thrives on human interaction. While she may be a bit hesitant at first, give her a little petting and Mavis will be nuzzling up to you in no time. She's very gentle towards people and has not shown any aggressive behavior other than barking at strangers when first meeting them. She's been both receptive and apprehensive of other dogs, with the latter most likely being due to her the uncertainties arising from her recent changes in life. We'd suggest a meet and greet with any other dogs that she'd share a home with to ensure compatibility. 

Mavis walks very well on a leash and shows signs of having some experience with been house training. She's received an update on her yearly vaccinations, recently tested negative for heartworms, started and kept her on her monthly preventatives. During her recent vet exam, we discovered that Mavis had previously been spay. A microchip will accompany her adoption.
