***Abe is scheduled to be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (Penningtn, NJ) over the Oct 4-6 weekend. At this time, we’re only accepting applications for his adoption from the NJ and surrounding areas.***

Abe and his friend, Sarah, were both taken to our vet’s office by their former owner with instructions to euthanize both because they had been digging in the dirt around his bushes.. There had been no other problems with Abe or Sarah, no aggression or other bad behavior displayed by them, the man just didn’t want dogs that would dig holes in his yard. The staff at Sandersville Vet talked the owner out of needlessly killing Sarah and Abe and allow them to find a new home for them. SoCo Rescue was asked, and happily agreed, to find them new homes.

While very friendly, Abe is a bit shy when first meeting new people. He seems to thoroughly enjoys meeting people, he just wants to make sure you’re a good person before trusting you. Abe plays very well with other dogs and would do best in a home that includes another friendly dog that he can pal around with. He is undergoing house, leash and other basic training but will require more work to fully master these skills.

Abe has now been neutered, received an update on all of his vaccinations, de-wormed, started on his monthly preventatives and recently tested negative for heartworms. He may need additional house training
