Description:
Meet Manny, a mix of Catahoola, Husky, Moutain Cur and a little bulldog. This 4 year old fellow is very playful, energetic and full of fun. While he is a very happy dog, Manny's life didn't start off that way.

Manny was found by a teenager who grew to care about the stray that no one else in his area wanted. This young man took what little money he had and got Manny his initial vet care, securing his vaccines and wormings. He'd spend his days caring for and loving Manny, building a bond between the two.

But one day the teenager's father demanded that his son immediately find somewhere else for Manny to live or he'd take "that dog" to the local shelter. The shelter, as are so many others, was always overcrowded and too many dogs never made it out of there alive. Manny would have most likely met his fate while there. Reluctantly and heartbroken, the young man sought help for the dog that he had grown to love.

SoCo Rescue heard about Manny's predicament but was at capacity at the time. But with the help of some wonderful volunteers, Manny went to stay with a qualified foster until space opened for him at SoCo Rescue. In July, 2012, Manny was accepted into the Southern Comfort family.

As stated, at times Manny is a very energetic dog, at other times he can be very calm. Because of his high energy, we recommend a home without small children, which may become fearful or harmed by his playfulness. Manny does get along great with other dogs and new people but will bark when initially meeting either. He has never shown any aggression, other than barking, to anyone or another dog. Manny did not do good on his cat testing, so a home where no contact with cats is also recommended.

Simply put, Manny is a great dog and will do very well with the right person.
